He tells about the Golden Record, which was placed aboard the Voyager space probes launched in 1977. It contains recordings of everything from Beethoven to Chuck Berry, ancient Sumerian greetings to whale songs, and has now left our solar system. Gary also take us to Hispania, the ancient Roman name for the Iberian Peninsula, and recounts the strange tale of the last Germans to surrender in World War II. (It took them a while to figure out whom to surrender to.)

Max reports on an article by GoNomad senior writer Rich Grant that reveals what life was like aboard those wooden vessels of yore, as well as showing where you can visit some of the ships from that era. Hartshorne also takes us to Lana‘i, a Hawaiian island with a rich, multicultural history, beautiful landscapes, and mystery. Parts of the island are said to be haunted, says writer Noreen Kompanik in the GoNomad article, and Paul and Elizabeth, who have visited several times, agree that Lana‘i is enchanting.
